WILL CONFLICT BE SETTLED BY SPRING

OSCE Parliamentary Assemblys Rapporteur on Nagorno Karabakh Goran Lenmarker thinks the conflicting sides can reach an agreement over the main principles by spring 2009, reports the special correspondent of Mediamax News Agency from Helsinki.

HUNGER STRIKE CONTINUES

Ashughyan found out about the birth of his child in the penitentiary.

“Bjni” mineral water factory workers wish to organize a rally to raise their voices against the problems caused by Armenian authorities. They submitted a notice to the Yerevan city council with the request to hol a rally on December 12.

Today the Armenian Parliament passed the bill on the amendments to the RoA Law on Referendum with 87 votes for, 7 votes against and two abstentions.

STUDENTS HANDED OVER LETTER OF COMPLAINT

Today Yerevan students staged a protest action in front of the UN Office against brutal destruction of Armenian monuments in Georgia. The action was followed by a march to the Georgian Embassy in Armenia where the protesters handed a letter to the ambassador.

The European Court of Human Rights reached a verdict today according to which the three citizens of Armenia Lavrent Kirakosyan, Arman Kirakosyan and Myasnik Tadevosyan have been subject to inhuman and degrading treatment, have had their right to a fair trial violated and an unfeasible appeal has been registered.
