The Armenian National Congress today convened a sitting to discuss issues related to the upcoming election of the Elders' quorum. During the sitting HAK's regional structures received definite assignments and got acquainted with the preparatory work.

Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan has met with a German delegation headed by the Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Gernot Erler.

"Our report and footage on the last March unrest shocked the public and the parliamentary committee looking into the events of March 1-2. But neither the authorities nor the committee came up with a legal assessment.

The Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) convenes a sitting in Spanish city Valencia on April 30, at 10.30 (local time). Among other issues, the Committee will examine the implementation of PACE Resolution 1643 (2009) by Armenian authorities.

According to Azeri mass media, Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian has announced that the Armenian-Turkish frontier will be opened by April 24, following U.S. President Barrack Obama's visit.

Upon the instructions of Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan all employees of the City Hall were given "100-perecent lists" to be filled up in favour of the acting mayor, Republican (HHK) candidate for the May 31 mayoral election Gagik Beglaryan. The information was given by a City Hall employee.

On March 23, the Armenian Council of America (ACA) sent U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton a letter. In the letter, the ACA addressed several issues of concern regarding U.S.-Armenia and U.S.-Turkey relations.

Last week, in an open letter to President Barack Obama, the International Association of Genocide Scholars, the leading organization of scholars who study genocide, urged Obama to "refer to the mass slaughter of Armenians as genocide in your commemorative statement," adding that it was what "you urged President George W. Two years ago, on March 25, Armenians bid last farewell to the country's Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan. Today Serzh Sargsyan visited Komitas Pantheon accompanied by Armenian top brass. Thousands of citizens also paid tribute to the memory of the late Prime Minister.

The Conservative Party of Armenia views the elections for Yerevan city council to be held on May 31 as a way to restore constitutional order in Armenia and the continuation of the pan-national struggle against the 2008 falsified presidential elections.

Armen Rustamyan, Chairman of the RoA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, sent a letter to Howard Berman, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the US House of Representatives. The letter says in part:
