RoA NA elections finished at exactly 8:00p.m. After the official closure of the polls commission members started ballot counting.

MASIS MALKHASYAN WAS DETAINED

Commission members are trying their best “to help voters” at Precinct 14/17, Masis Malkhasyan informed mass media representatives.

1 MILLION 60 THOUSAND AND 653 PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY VOTED

According to CEC data, 1million 60 thousand and 653 voters had been registered by 5:00 p.m., i.e. 45.8 per cent potential voters.

PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE GOT SEVEN COMPLAINTS

Seven written-notifications on election frauds had been submitted with the Central Electoral Commission by 3:00 p.m. Currently, the CEC members are investigating the material.

BALLOTS DISAPPEARED

Anonymous people are constantly tearing off the electoral roll at Precinct 3/27. Though Ruzan Harutyunyan’s/proxy of the Hnchakyan Party/ has informed the commission members, they refused to make a protocol.

SERGE SARGSYAN: OPPOSITION IS MATURE

Unlike RoA President Robert Kocharian, who claims that the oppositional forces repeat the same mistakes, RoA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan, considers the “opposition mature.”

VICTOR DALLAKYAN APPLIED TO POLICE STATION

On May 11, Victor Dallakyan, running for the parliamentary elections on the majoritarian list, applied to the police station. He clams that a Vahan Harutyunyan has been intimidating Siranush Aghvanyan, Dalakyan’s proxy at Precinct N24, Vanadzor. Moreover, the same person has been “chasing” Victor Dallakyan since May 11 in a white car 36 LS 257.

ARAM KARAPETYAN’S CAR UNDERWENT A CRASH

Today, at about 9:30, minibus N49 violated traffic rules and went into the second official car of Aram Karapetyan, the leader of the New Times Party (NTP).

VOTERS ARE ACTIVE IN SYUNIK

Citizens are actively participating in election particularly in Syunik Marz/Province. According to CEC data, 14142 voters have been registered by this time, i.e. 13. 43 percent potential voters.

WILL VILLAGERS GIVE BACK THE MONEY?

At N 5/3 precinct in Arabkir-Davtashen Community a voter had tried to put into an envelope already marked ballot and the Commission members noticed it and prevented, informed National Unity party. The marked vote was in Levon Khachatryan’s favor, a candidate nominated for NA Deputy on majority list.

INACCURACIES ON THE LISTS

The beginning of Parliamentary elections was very active in Erebuni Community. About 8 a.m. in the 8th street of the Community a great number of mini buses were gathered and they moved in different directions.

77 OBSERVERS WERE DENIED ACCREDITATION

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) convened a plenary session today and deprived 77 members of “Gyumri Students Council” NGO of the right to conduct an observation mission.

VARTAN OSKANIAN'S STATEMENT IN THE SESSION OFCoE COMMITTEE OF MINISTERS

Minister Oskanian participated in the 117th Session of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers. In his statement, Minister Oskanian recognized how Armenia has changed during the years since Council of Europe membership, as well as the evolution of the Council of Europe itself. POLICE VIOLATED LAW ON MARCHES, DEMONSTRATIONS AND RALLIES

On May 11, Nikol Pashinyan (Impeachment Alliance), Aram Sargsyan (Republic Party) and Aram Karapetyan (New Times) held a press conference at the Armenia-Marriott Hotel. The conference pursued no electioneering purpose. They merely wanted to respond to the May 10 statement issued by the Police and the Office of Prosecutor General on the May 9 clash with the police.
