1 MILLION 60 THOUSAND AND 653 PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY VOTED

According to CEC data, 1million 60 thousand and 653 voters had been registered by 5:00 p.m., i.e. 45.8 per cent potential voters.

CEC will issue its next formal statement at 9:00 p.m.

To remind, The voting takes place at 1923 polling stations of 41 electoral districts of Armenia. According to the information of the Police, 2 million 285 thousand 830 citizens have the right to vote. 22 parties and one alliance are running for parliament. 1245 candidates on the party tickets and 119 majority candidates are competing for 131 parliament seats. The proportional seats in the parliament are 90, majority seats are 41. According to the RoA Electoral Code, a party must get 5 percent of votes and an alliance must get 7 percent of votes to be elected to the parliament. According to the legislation, the preliminary data must be released not later than 24 hours after the voting, i.e. at 8 p.m. on May 13. The preliminary results of the voting to parties must be released not late than 18 hours after the voting, i.e. at 2 pm., May 13. According to the Constitution, the first meeting of parliament must take place on the third Thursday following the day of the voting, i.e. on May 31.
