The programme “Vesti Nedeli” on official Russian TV channel Rossia/RTP/ referred to the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh on April 22. Two days later, on April 24, Azerbaijan submitted a complaint letter to the Russian Federation.

Azeris claim that “the programme distorted historical facts that the Sovereign Republic of Nakhijevan belongs to Azerbaijan.”

In reply to Azerbaijan's complaint, Russia noted that “RTR is an independent TV Channel. Programmes broadcast on this channel do not reflect Russia's official stance.”
