Public Council votes against the ratification of Istanbul Convention (video)
Support A1+!Member of the Public Council Styopa Safaryan is ready to request the Government to withdraw the signature of the Istanbul Convention, but on the condition that the other members of the Public Council speak of the content of the convention.
Mr. Safaryan does not accept the opinion of his collegues that the Convention obligates the adoption of the 3rd sex.
Other members of the public council made speeches that Armenia should not ratify the convention. Board member Karen Zadoyan suggested postponing the discussion of the issue.
The Public Council voted against the ratification of the Istanbul Convention.
After listening to various speeches, Public Council Chairman Vazgen Manukyan announced that the council urged the government not to ratify the convention but expressed willingness to hold discussions.
