Nazik Avdalyan was confident of her victory
De Facto club today hosted world weightlifting champion Nazik Avdalyan. Present at the meeting were President of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation Samvel Khachatryan and chief coach of the Armenian women's weightlifting team Artashes Nersisyan.
Speaking about her convincing victory at the World Weightlifting Championships in Goyang, Nazik Avdalyan said she was confident of her victory.
I made a mistake in the snatch as I kept my arm folded for a while. The referees didn't fix the result which made me angry. But so great was my desire to win, that I didn't give in.
Nazik is not going to marry in the near future since she is thinking about her sports career. She spends her spare time reading books and listening to music.
Nazik hasn't decided what to do with the 5million drams she will receive as an award.
The Armenian weightlifter is going to change her weight category and compete in 75 kg category.
Asked whether she is not afraid of her new strong rivals, Nazik Avdalyan said: "Not a bit.'
She is going to resume training next Tuesday and get ready for the 2010 championship.
