Support A1+!April 24, 1915 became one of the most tragic days in the history of Armenians and the entire humanity. More than 1.5 million Armenians fell victim to the disastrous plan of the Ottoman Empire. About 800 thousand Armenians managed to survive by migrating and taking refuge in Eastern Armenia and other corners of the world.
The abundant Armenian Diaspora is indisputable evidence of the 20th century Genocide which is so eagerly denied by the Turkish government. Recognition of the Armenian Genocide is of worldwide significance. Today dozens of countries attribute great importance to the recognition of the Genocide by Turkey on its way to join the European Union, among them Russia, France, the European Council, several European countries, and some US states.
Every year on April 24 thousands of citizens visit Tsitsernakaberd, the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, to pay respect and lay flowers in the memory of the victims. 1.5 million flowers will be laid and as many prayers will be uttered at the unquenchable fire perpetuating the memory of innocent victims of 1915.
