Electric poles on the verge of collapse
Electric poles in Gyumri's Mazmanyan street are on the verge of collapse and may fall down any moment, inflicting great damage on citizens' life and property. The poles started to rock more intensively following the recent earthquakes in Turkey.
The citizens have filed numerous written and verbal complaints to the Gyumri-based ‘Kars' company of the Electricity Networks of Armenia (ENA). The latter promised to tackle the issue in the near future but forgot the promise in a little while.
"Who will answer if the poles destroy a house or kill someone?" said Andranik Melkonyan, a resident of Mazmanyan street.
"I cannot say what the residents are complaining of but I assure you that all estimations and calculations were completed in 2010," said Karapet Harutyunyan, chief architect of the company.
The architect said they would return to Mazmanyan street later on, after they finished the work in other streets and advised the residents to wait a little.
