"Neither the Ministry of Culture nor the Minister remembers us," says Director of the Culture Palace of Meghri, Samvel Hayrapetyan.

The Culture Palace of Meghri hasn't been renovated since the day it was built. Citizens have to walk on their toes as they enter because they might have an accident if they set their foot in the wrong place.

When you look at the classrooms, it seems as though the ceiling will fall on your head at any moment. The smell of humidity stays in the summer, despite the fact that summer is the hottest in Meghri.

The Culture Palace starts "working" when autumn begins.
"We place pans, buckets and plates everywhere to stop the raindrops from falling," says the Culture Palace director. It is dangerous to organize mass events here since the walls are cracked and the floor is damaged.

The art school, as well as the municipal and district libraries are located in this building. There are 100 children studying at the art school, but the number declines year after year due to lack of equipment. In addition, parents are afraid of sending their children to the damaged culture palace.

According to the director, the regional authorities have promised to help repair the roof, but they haven't fulfilled their promise to this day.
