Gyumri Mayor vs. GALA
On June 25, a court of general jurisdiction of Shirak marz is scheduled to start hearing into the case of Gyumri Mayor vs. Chap Ltd and the latter's counter-claim.
Recall that on November 26, 2007, the Mayor of Gyumri filed a lawsuit in a local court demanding to vacate the privatized the TV tower. Moreover, Vartan Ghukasyan fixed a price of 200.000 AMD.
The City Hall demands that GALA dismantle broadcasting equipment installed on the tower.
A hearing in the case began and was immediately discontinued in 2009, when the lawyer of GALA Karen Tumanyan motioned for a forensic examination of the tower techniques.
The request was granted and the sitting was adjourned sine die.
No one mentioned about the case since January 14, 2009. The examination of the tower started in May 2010. A few days ago Judge Shirak Hakobyan announced the conclusion of experts was ready.
