Stones fall down on houses
Mrs. Nazik's family moved from Neghots Village to Vanadzor for permanent residence a year ago.
The private house in the village was in a danger of being buried under rockslides. Stones fell down on the building from the nearby mountains.
The family bought a new flat in Vanadzor with the financial assistance of the state. They even found a job in the town. But Mrs. Nazik and her husband cannot get accustomed to the idea of abandoning their home.
They returned to the village to fetch the remaining things.
Another two families of the village resettled in Akhtala.
One family refused to leave the village.
Rockfalls have imperiled the whole village. Stones weaken and roll down onto houses during spring months.
The issue of rockslide was raised in higher echelons during the Soviet period as well. It was even decided to displace the whole village but the villagers didn't agree to leave their homes.
