The greatest tenor Luciano Pavarotti died some hours ago at his home in Modena at the age of 72. The cause was pancreatic cancer. In July 2006 he underwent surgery for the cancer in New York and had made no public appearances since then. He was being attended to at home by cancer specialists up until his death
