The civil society is developing in Armenia very rapidly, says Chairman of the Civil Society Institute Arman Danielyan. “Unfortunately, trade unions, which are considered to be an important component of the civil society, do not function today. Once we have established trade unions, the role of the civil society will increase rapidly,” said Mr Danielyan. We had only NGOs operating in Armenia 4-5 years ago, while today there are many civil initiatives that work actively. He says the civil society can sometimes influence decision-makers, which is really gratifying.
