Potato price to reach 500 drams
Agriculture in Syunik region suffered 3 billion drams worth of damage due to poor weather conditions.
Compared to last year, the gross harvest of products has decreased.
Grain harvest has reduced by 10,000 tons compared to last year, said Head of the Agriculture and Nature Protection Department of Syunik regional council Kajik Khachatryan.
The region is also in demand of high-quality fertilizers.
Experts predict inflation of products in the region. Kajik Khachatryan seriously advised farmers to keep the potatoes and sell them in January. "If potatoes are sold for 230-250 drams a kilogram now, they will cost 500 drams in January," says the number one agriculture expert in the region.
