Trees bloom in autumn too
Three years ago Tigran Manucharyan, resident of Vaghatin village, Sisian region, decided to have an orchard. He planted about 300 saplings near his house.
During a recent grass pickup Mr. Tigran saw an apple tree all in blossom with abundant crops on its branches.
"I have never seen or heard an apple tree blossom in this season. Look how many flowers the tree has! No one believes my story," says Mr. Tigran.
Another resident of Vaghatin, Jora Hambardzumyan, has done gardening for many years and has never witnessed such a thing.
He advised the young gardener to wrap up the tree before cold winds blow to avoid frostbites.
"I think the tree didn't blossom at the beginning of spring because of unfavourable weather conditions, therefore the sapling came to buds later. The tree must be well wrapped up to avoid further frostbites," says Mr. Hambardzumyan.
Telman Ghevondyan, Advisor on agricultural affairs of the marz, says the untimely flowering is determined by a few factors among them good care, trimming, etc.
"We start spring trimming on April 5. Delay may lead to a complicated physiological process and flowering during vegetation," says Telman Ghevondyan.
35-year-old Tigran Manucharyan is delighted with the florescence and considers it is a good sign.
