FREE SYSTEM TO AVOID INCIDENTS
Support A1+!Based on the high rate of incidents due to gas outflows, “ArmRusGazard” had started the installation of alarms in multi-story buildings in collaboration with the government.
In general, 14,000 alarm systems will be installed in Gyumri by the end of the year. The system signals the outflow of gas or outside gas and reduces the danger of gas poisoning. The orange button on the alarm system warns that the gas entering the house has been stopped. However, experts warn that residents should not restore the gas themselves; rather, they should call the experts so that they can find out what caused the gas outflow and if there is any danger in the apartment before providing gas again.
“In that case, there will be no danger. The alarm is installed a meter and a half away from the gas equipment and functions up to 70 degree heat,” said one of the installers.
The Gyumri branch of the ArmRusGazard has installed the alarm systems in nearly 834 multi-story buildings and 14,000 will be installed in buildings of Gyumri by the end of the year. At present, workers are installing the systems in the risky buildings first.
The vice-president of the branch says that installation in multi-story buildings is free of charge, but people who own homes or settlements must pay for their own alarm system.
It is not clear as to whether or not there will be funding for private homes after free installation of the alarm system. That question will be clear only by the end of the year when all multi-story buildings will be provided with alarm systems.
