8 YEAR-OLD VACHAGAN NOT FOUND

For 24 days the police have been looking for 8 year-old Vachagan Asatrian, resident of Arapi village. The river surroundings and the Akhurian reservoir have totally been examined with no result. Anyway, the parents believe their son is not in the water.

“Vachagan did well at school. He used to count his excellent marks every day. When Father returned from abroad he always paid a dollar or two for each excellent mark. Vachagan had made a small spade to pick up snowdrops meant for our neighbours”, the boy’s mother tells.

A few articles of clothing, some handmade postcards and a few saved coins remain from the lost boy. “Either he fell into the water or he was run over and concealed. Father hopes his son is safe and sound”, Vachagan’s mother assumes. The tide is low today and the police will conduct another search at the river neighborhood. The Akhurian reservoir is closed and it boarders Turkey on one side. The border-guards are notified about the lost boy. The proposed hypothesis of kidnapping is denied.
