TRIAL ON MUSHEGH SAGHATELYAN

Today the Court of Appeal heard the criminal case of Mushegh Saghatelyan, the former Head of Penitentiaries Department.

Prosecutor Piloyan was absent. The defence introduced substantiation for disputing the decision of the Review Court. Robert Grigoryan, Saghatelyan's defence counsel solely within the case adduced the Court facts proving Saghatelyan's guiltlessness . Judge Mher Khachatryan asked Grigoryan some questions. E. g., Why did the Head of Internal Affairs' Penitentiaries enter the insulator of National Security while IA and NS systems were separate structures ?

On the episode of masterminding false betrayal the Judge asked: "Did Saghatelyan possess any task to carry on the preliminary investigation on October 27-th ?"

"Mushegh Saghatelyan used to disclose October 27-th crime. He keeps doing it. And he will expose it. Sagahtelyan didn't collect the information under pressure or against somebody's wishes" ,- Robert Grigoryan said.

The Appeal Court left unchanged the decision of Review one with the exception of striking off the part for 90.000 fine reasoning 2 punishments are not envisaged for the same act .
