Political and Electoral Technologies Expert Armen Badalyan considers that the elections of the Council of Elders were the third free elections in Armenia's history. "The first was in 1991, and the second one was in 1999." The expert notes that in order to assess the voter turnout in the election, it is necessary to understand how many actual voters there are. "There are over 800,000 voters on the list, but there are not so many people in Yerevan; many have emigrated." According to Armen Badalyan, electoral bribes will no longer work. "The Prime Minister destroyed that mechanism and now one has to present an idea." The results showed that around 300,000 Yerevan residents support Nikol Pashinyan, the expert says.
