Ayvazovski's famous paintings on stamps
On November 7, at Yerevan Historical Museum, within the philatelic exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Hovhannes Ayvazovski, Haypost CJSC issued five stamps dedicated to “World Famous Armenians: The 200th anniversary of Hovhannes Ayvazovski 's birthday”. The five pictures of world-famous Armenian seascape painter Hovhannes Ayvazovski were on the stamps with the nominal values of 170, 220, 230, 380 and 450 AMD. These stamps were printed by the French “Cartor” printing house with a circulation of 30,000 copies. The idea was generated by Juan Pablo Gechidjian, Director General of HayPost Trust Management. Anna Abgaryan and Harutyun Samuelyan are the designers of these stamps.
