AMD 409 million to be allocated to social protection sector
AMD 409 billion is envisaged to be allocated to the social protection sector under the 2017 draft budget, Deputy Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan said in a joint sitting of parliament committees when presenting the intended allocations to the social protection sector. AMD 248 billion will be allocated for pensions and AMD 79 billion for social benefits. There are 225 300 beneficiaries in the country. Speaking about gas and rates, the deputy minister said they are carrying out an analysis and the government will present a comprehensive approach in the near future, laying the primary emphasis on socially vulnerable families.
