On July 31, a Yerevan court placed Pavlik Manukyan, one of the leaders of the Sasna Dzrer group, under two-month pre-trial detention, Azatutyun.am reports. Manukyan had been brought into court on a stretcher. He announced that he did not admit his guilt. Manukyan’s lawyer, Inessa Petrosyan considers the ruling ‘illegitimate.’ Pavlik Manukyan and his son, Aram, were wounded  in a shootout with the security forces on the night of July 27.  They were both taken to the Erebuni medical centre after the overnight incident. Aram was later transferred to the Hospital for Convicts penitentiary institution where he is reportedly kept 'in inhuman and degrading conditions.'
