RA MoD: 23 cases of ceasefire violation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border
On April 27 and 28 overnight 23 cases of ceasefire violation were registered in the northeastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border. The Azerbaijani side opened mainly sporadic fire from different caliber rifle and sniper weapons toward the Armenian positions. The RA Armed Forces’ vanguard units, displaying restraint, took retaliatory actions only in case of strict necessity and confidently keep the border situation under control. According to the operative information of the NKR MoD, on April 27 and 28, along the entire Line of Contact between the opposing forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, the adversary continued intensively shelling the DA military positions, using tanks, different caliber mortars, cannons, TR-107 multiple rocket launchers and MM-21 (Grad) multiple rocket launcher, firing more than 240 shells. More intensive bombardments were registered in the eastern, northern and northeastern direction of the Line of Contact. Peaceful settlement of Mataghis was shelled from MM-21 (Grad) multiple rocket launcher. In order to neutralize the attacking actions of the adversary, the DA vanguard units took preventive actions in line with the development of the operative situation. At present the situation is relatively calm.
