The group of the Dortmund Conference engaged in the Karabakh conflict is in Armenia. The US co-chair Harold Sonders who is the ex secretary of the ex US President announced during the round table held today that their problem is to prepare the society for the peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The Group of States against corruption (GRECO) has made 24 offers to Armenia and the Republic has to execute them until September 2007. For example, to reduce the number of officials enjoying immunity, the organize trainings for the workers of the judicial system, etc.

The Azeri Embassy to Belgium which is at the same time accredited in the EU has sent a note to the EU Chief Directorate of International Relations. This time the Azeris are complaining of the maps.

Yesterday the head of the International Crisis group Sabina Fraser rendered a press conference in Washington during which she announced, “The Nagorno Karabakh conflict is not frozen: the informational about human losses in the region testifies to this”.

Only 7 of the NA Deputies are women and there are no woman Regional Governors or Mayors in Armenia. According to the coordinator of the USA constant mission in the RA Consuelo Vidal this is a bad phenomenon as the voice of the women is not audible.

On March 27 in the hall “Benjamin Franklin” of the USA State Secretary premises the RA Minister of the Finance and Economy Vardan Khachatrian and the Executive Director of the Cooperation “The Millennium Challenge” John Danilovich signed the agreement “The Millennium Challenge” of the RA for the period of five years’ realization at the cost of 236.5million USD.

The Chairman of the party “Heritage” Raffi Hovannisian, the party members and the whole personnel of the central office have been deprived of the access to the office since March 4. The Chairman of the party “National Democratic Alliance” Arshak Sadoyan has already initiated the signature collection of the Open Letter.

On April 10-13 the PACE spring session will start in Strasbourg. Two issues about Armenia will be discussed. One of them is about the refuges, and the other is about the human rights protection in the Armed Forces. The issues will not be represented separately:

“There are three sides which affect the regulation of the Karabakh conflict – USA, Russia and EU. The quick settlement of ethnic conflicts in Southern Caucasus is not very profitable for USA as because of them USA remains in the region, and thus Washington reaches its different aims”

Geneva (ICRC) – On 24 March an Armenian prisoner of war detained in Azerbaijan was repatriated under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The operation took place on the road between the Azerbaijani town of Gazakh and the Armenian town of Ijevan.

Today the leader of the Union for National Self–Determination Paruyr Hayrikyan started the process of negotiation with the leader of the RA republican party, Prime-Minister Andranik Margaryan, a person whom Paruyr Hayrikyan himself called and “agent” and accused of various actions.

The Hnchaks Social – Democratic party made a decision to change “its strategy and to return to Armenia in case of probability and to expand its activities in the Motherland.”

The Government has given its approval of the main ceremonies program devoted to the 15th anniversary of the RA independence. It includes about 80 scientific, educational, cultural, training and suchlike ceremonies which will take place in the capital and the marzes of the republic from April till the end of the year.

It turns out that the rumors about men’s absence in Armenia do not fully correspond to reality. The Prime Minister Andranik Margarian promised in the press to give “A1+” new premises before it releases the building on15 Grigor Lusavorich.

The participants of a few strikes mingled today in front of the RA Government building. The inhabitants of the “realizing area,” the tenants of the Dalma gardens and the NA Deputy Arshak Sadoyan were among them and they aroused an action of revolt against “ArmenTel.”

By the decision of the RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan, Gagik Vardanyan has been resigned from the post of the RA deputy Minister of Commerce and Economic Development.

Head of the “New Times” party Aram Karapetyan announced in the National Press Club that the coming authorities of Armenia will have better relationship with Russia. The reason of the announcement was the theme discussed in the Club – the Armenian-Russian relations.
