Will Jivan Gasparyan leave for Oslo?
Renowned duduk player Jivan Gasparyan is supposed to travel to Oslo with singer Eva Rivas to represent Armenia in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.
Though Mr. Gasparyan has already received an invitation by the Armenian organizers, he is still uncertain about his departure.
"There are still some technical issues to address. We are to depart on May 21 but I have a concert in Italy on May 22. If they agree that I join them after the concert, I shall be glad to be helpful. I have been preparing for the concert for a year and I cannot cancel it," said the legendary duduk player.
Regarding the Eurovision song concert Mr. Gasparyan said he did not take it seriously.
"How can we speak of the song contest seriously if the winner is decided by a greengrocer? I have participated in 16 international contests which were all scored by a professional jury."
The semi-finals of the song contest are due on May 25 and 27. Armenia's representative Eva Rivas will present her "Apricot Stone" on May 27.
