STUNNING REVELATION AT TIGRAN NAGHDALYAN’S MURDER TRIAL

Few expected such a dramatic development in course of Tigran Naghdalyan’s murder trial.

Suspect Felix Arustamyan made a stunning statement at today’s hearing saying he isn’t sure that John Harutyunyan killed Tigran Naghdalyan. “He even can’t shoot well. We used to go hunting together and I know his capability. John pled guilty just because we were promised by Prosecutor Office $250,000 if plead guilty and told we would be released after serving 8 years in jail”, Arustamyan said.

Arustamyan’s statement astonished not only the court but also the defence. Armen Sargssyan’s attorney Robert Grigoryan pled for a break in the session. Defendant Arustamyan, who leave the scene on the day of assassination refusing to take part in it, today denied his testimonies given in the course of preliminary inquiry. Moreover he said, Gegham Shahbazyan, one of the suspects in the case, ordered the assassination promising $30,000 and later $50,000 payment for that. However, in 10 days before the murder Gegham Shahbazyan told Arustamyan and Harutyunyan that Lyeva Harutyunyan, another defendant, who promised to pay 50,000 refused to participate in the deal. At the same time, Shahbazyan ordered Arustamyan and Harutyunyan to commit the crime.

“Go and kill. I know how to earn money after killing. I’ll go to Lyova’s godfather. I know what to say him to make him fork out money”, Felix Arustamyan testified today quoting Gegham Shahbazyan.

In his words, when Harutyunyan and Arustamyan asked him who is Lyova’s godfather, Gegham Shahbazyan answered “Vazgen’s brother”, i.e. Armen Sargssyan.

As defendant Arustamyan said, for that reason they took no money in advance and decided to get a lump sum after the deal.
