Lawmaker: Armenia's economy is lagging behind
Armenian lawmaker Mikael Melkumyan today commented on the speech of the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Nerses Yeritsyan. “I carefully observe the country’s economic policy. Our economy is lagging behind. If we sit now at the table for a consultation and say we are the smartest people, I do not think we shall make a significant breakthrough in a year or so. But we can say that we are shouldering the political responsibility, this is the question,” he said. Mr Melkumyan is especially displeased to see that the forces that failed in their endavours do not step aside and allow others to try and succeed. The lawmaker also spoke about the planned referendum on the draft constitutional amendments. I personally believe that nothing will change after the referendum,” he said.
