Monument of a Soviet soldier to be installed
Monument dedicated to a Soviet soldier will be installed in Armenian town Spitak, informs “Izhvestia” newspaper. The preliminary design of the future monument has been drawn by the sculptor Eldar Yusupov and architects Vadim Frolov and Sofia Shlenkina. They depicted a Soviet soldier, who saves a child in the background of the city devastated during the earthquake. The opening ceremony is intended on December 7, 2015. As “Spitak Memorial” NGO Head Norayr Muradyan informed, the draft had been drawn still in 1989 by the Soviet government, but it hadn’t been realized because of lack of finances.
