The administration of Artik penitentiary refutes the reports concerning an inmate who allegedly tried to ‘dictate his rules’ in the prison. "Some media outlets rushed to spread the news that Vahe Ghukasyan, an inmate in Artik penitentiary, tried to ‘dictate his rules’ because of the favorable conditions and frequently entered into conflict with the investigator. Ghukasyan reportedly refused to comply with prison rules, talked to his girlfriend via Skype and was therefore taken to Nubarashen penitentiary. We assure you that the reports do not correspond to reality and Vahe Ghukasyan was transferred to Nubarashen penitentiary in order to ensure his presence in court sessions," reads the statement issued by the penitentiary.
