On March 5, Robert Kocharyan ratified the amendments and supplements to the Administrative Law Infringements in RA Code, as well as those of Police and Traffic safety security.

The USA is interested with NA forthcoming elections more than any other country or organization. This is due to the statistics of Armenian Sociological Association. Nowadays the association is carrying out survey throughout Armenia which is sponsored by the USA “International Federal Institute”, the center being in Washington DC.

Two Armenian deputies are elected in the National Assembly of Abkhazia. Due to “Yerkramas” newspaper, on March 4, out of 35 deputies 18 were elected, two of them being Armenians. Valeri Mayromyan won the election in the 12th polling station and Sergey Matevosyan in the 22nd one.

March 5 is Vazgen Sargsyan’s birthday. Today the Erablur was overcrowded; representatives of various parties and RA high-ranking officials assembled near Vazgen Sargsyan’s tomb. It is already nine years since Vazgen Sargsyan died. Every year his friends, acquaintances, relatives, and adherents assemble in the Erablur on March 5.

Samvel Babayan will run for the parliamentary elections in constituency 37, in Syunik. To note, Alexandre Sargsyan, Serge Sargsyan’s brother, also put forward his candidacy in the same constituency. Taking into consideration the relations between Serge Sargsyan and Samvel Babayan, we can anticipate that the struggle will be rather tense.

As we know the attempts of the oppositional forces to ally and to run for the parliamentary elections in one united front were doomed to failure. They couldn’t nominate united candidates in 41 constituencies under the majority ticket either. And now the representatives of the opposition will likely compete with each other in one and the same constituency.

“The dismissal of 2-3 generals is not a great loss for the RA armed forces. I have normal attitude to this phenomenon. The discharged deputy minister and commander of the corps are our friends. Perhaps they found it wiser to be engaged in politics.

Court of First Instance of Kentron and Nork-Marash sent Gyulnara Manvelyan to two-month custody. To remind, in 2006 Gyulnara Manvelyan gave her new-born son to a doctor of obstetrics department at the cost of $2000. The most striking is the fact that the court didn’t take Doctor Mher Engibaryan under arrest.

The village of Aygehovit on Armenia’s north-eastern border with Azerbaijan is home to 3,400 people and blessed with wheat fields, green pastures and orchards. The trouble is that because of mines sowed in the Karabakh conflict that ended in 1994, many of them are inaccessible.

Why couldn’t “Impeachment” join the opposition? On March 2, “Impeachment” Public-Political Initiative held a rally adjacent the Matenadaran to find the answer to this question. Raffi Hovannisian, leader of the «Heritage» Party, won't run for the parliament under the majority system. He tops the proportional ticket of the party. Then come Larisa Alaverdyan, Vardan Khachatryan, Anahit Bakhchinyan, Stepan Safaryan, Henrik Bardzumyan, Zarouhi Postangyan, Movses Aristakecyan, etc.The ticket involves 58 candidates.

All the parliamentary forces seem to have great expectations form the upcoming elections; they seek to have more diplomas in the RA Parliament. For instance, Hrayr Karapetyan, leader of ARF Dashnaktsutyun faction, and Galoust Sahakyan, chairman of Republican Party's assume that their parties will be represented in full elegance. Galoust Sahakyan, is convinced that all the 40 members of their ticket will be elected to the new parliament.

The proportional ticket of the All-Armenian National Movement will be ready and submitted with the Central Electoral Commission on March 3. According to our preliminary data, the ticket already involves 60 candidates.

'Prosperous Armenia' has represented its proportional list to CEC. The party is generous also about the list: 112 candidates will run the election.

‘The USA recognition of Armenian Genocide will hinder the Armenian-Turkish reconciliation process,’ US Senate members have stated about Armenian Genocide resolution lately.

Though RP (Republican Party) lists are already known, they were not presented to CEC (Central Electoral Commission). Andranik Margaryan tops the party list, Serge Sargsyan comes next and then Tigran Torosyan.
