RF President Vladimir Putin has condoled with RA President Robert Kocharyan on the crash of the Armenian airplane flying from Yerevan to Adler. He announced that it is the tragedy of the Armenian and Russian nations.

In connection with the aircrash of the plane flying from Yerevan to Adler Robert Kocharyan has organized a consultation with the participation of the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Defense and Regional Government, the Attorney General, and the heads of the Police, the National Security Service, and the Chief Administration of Civic Aviation.

RA AN Speaker Arthur Baghdasaryan has sent a condoling message to the families and relatives of the crew and passengers of the plane which crashed the previous night.

“I learned about the crash of the airplane of the “Armavia” airlines flying from Yerevan to Adler with the deepest sorrow.

RA President Robert Kocharyan designated Ashot Galoyan, the Armenian extraordinary and plenipotenciary Ambassador to Poland the Armenian extraordinary and plenipotenciary Ambassador to Estonia on compatibility basis.(the residence is in Warshaw)

The 3rd phase of the negotiations on working out the program of activities between the EU and Armenia will initiate on May 3 in the framework of the European neigbourhood cooperation.

The 12th session of the Armenian - American working group on the economic cooperation was convened in Yerevan today at the head of the RA Minister of Finance and Economy Vardan Khachatryan and the American coordinator on European and Euroasian issues Tom Adams.

Today in connection with the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear station tragedy the RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan received the Armenian rescuers’ delegation participating in the elimination of the tragedy after-effects.

The President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus with his spouse Alma Adamkien is in Armenia on official call on Robert Kocharyan’s invitation.

On April 21 Moscow hosted a regular session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

On April 25-26 the delegation of Valdas Adamkus, the President of the Lithuania, will arrive in Armenia on official duty. The main aim of the visit is to enhance the relations between the countries, to establish the main directions of economic cooperation between the countries, as well as to stimulate scientific-cultural links.

Robert Kocharyan has signed a decree about awarding several people for their contribution to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in 2005.
