THE CHERNOBYL RESCUERS WERE AWARDED TODAY

Today in connection with the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear station tragedy the RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan received the Armenian rescuers’ delegation participating in the elimination of the tragedy after-effects.

The Prime Minister thanked the members of the delegation and the 3000 RA rescuers for their active participation in the nuclear station accident work and for assisting Ukrainians during the disaster. He also sympathized with the families and relatives of the rescuers who died during the disaster after-effects elimination. The Prime Minister stated that the RA Government does everything possible to ease the rescuers’ social and health state underlining that the measures offered by the state are not enough today to settle these matters fully. He voices hope that it will be probable to make the assistance more considerable in the future and engage all people needing that assistance.

Andranik Margaryan gave letters of thanks to a few rescuers participating in the Chernobyl disaster after-effects elimination. He mentioned that many of them deserve awards and next year all rescuers will be involved in the list.

The members of the association gave Andranik Margaryan a medal devoted to the 15th anniversary of the organization foundation and a souvenir devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy as a sigh of their gratitude.
