Wild nature took Nobel back We are sorry to inform that one of the Amur tigers of Yerevan Zoo - Nobel - died suddenly. Nobel was born in the Kaliningrad Zoo on August 25, 2001. In a month the elderly male should have turned 18 if his age had not exhausted his biological strength. Nobel belonged to the Amur tiger species. Father - Vilis, and mother - Purda. His generic number is 4652. In the wild, tigers live on average 15 years, and in captivity, in exceptional cases - up to 25. Nobel came to the Yerevan Zoo on May 9, 2005. With a friend Gerta, they, because of  Nobel, did not give offspring. The animal's death was recorded today, July 20. The caretaker noticed him standing motionless in the cage. The corpse was moved to the Zoo clinic, as a result of the autopsy samples were taken from the organs (liver, spleen, kidneys and lungs), which, according to the established order, were sent to the Republican Center for Veterinary Sanitary and Phyto-Sanitary Laboratory Services for examination. The preliminary reason for the death, according to the veterinarian, is old age, Yerevan Zoo informs.
