Anniversaries of Ayvazovski’s birth and first printed Armenian Bible included in UNESCO calendar
The 200th birth anniversary of Hovhannes Aivazovsky (Teodosia, 1817) and the 350th anniversary of the first printed Bible in Armenian (Amstedam, 1666) have been approved to be included in UNESCO’s 2016-2017 calendar of celebrities and important events. The decision was taken at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, during the 38th session of the General Conference, held on November 4-18. A total of 21 anniversaries presented by Armenian Republic have been involved in UNESCO calendar of celebrities and important events 1998
