U.S. VISA APPLICATION FEES TO BE PAID AT ARMECONOM BANK
Applicants for nonimmigrant visas to visit the United States may now pay their application fee in Armenian dram at any of the 40 branches of Armeconom Bank. A list of branches and their locations may be found on the bank's web site at www.aeb.am. Paying the fee in advance will reduce the amount of time each applicant spends in the Embassy waiting room on the day of their interview.

REGARDING STATEMENTS MADE BY ANCA
The Embassy noted with deep disappointment the statement made in Yerevan on March 13 by ANCA Exec Director Aram Hambarian. His remarks were a willful distortion of reality and have no place in any serious discussion about policy differences. Mr. Hambarian's comments are particularly out of place in Yerevan, where the Government of Armenia has already signaled its readiness to work with Ambassador Hoagland.
VENICE COMMISSION'S 70th SESSION
The Council of Europe's European Commission for Democracy through Law (the "Venice Commission") will be meeting in Venice on 16 and 17 March (Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista). This is its 70th session since it was set up in 1990.
REPETITION IN MCC AND LINS LISTS

n anticipation of an invitation to observe the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for 12 May 2007, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) undertook a Needs Assessment Mission (NAM) to the Republic of Armenia between 30 January and 2 February 2007.
