The court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash districts of Yerevan today continued the trial of ANC youth activists Tigran Arakelyan, Sargis Gevorgyan, David Kiramijyan and Artak Karapetyan.

Tigran Arakelyan's attorney, Vahe Grigoryan submitted a challenge petition to Judge Gagik Poghosyan for not being impartial and violating Tigran Arakelyan's rights.

The judge didn't let Tigran Arakelyan participate in the trial this time either. We remind that during the previous trial, Judge Gagik Poghosyan had dismissed Tigran Arakelyan from the courtroom for his statement "The prosecutor is making a big deal", which the court viewed as disrespectful.

Judge Gagik Poghosyan and prosecutor Ruben Martirosyan rejected the challenge petition.

On August 9, 7 ANC activists were arrested after a clash with police officers near Swan Lake in Yerevan, and Tigran Arakelyan was the only one that received imprisonment as a precautionary measure.

The trial will continue on February 14.
