"PAP is doing the right thing"

Politics

President of Javakhk Foundation Stepan Margaryan has issued a statement:

The recent events that took place at the RA National Assembly were logical and expected.

The government presented the package of bills "On Restrictions on Cash Functions", but the Prosperous Armenia Party voted against them. To be honest, I don't think these bills will contribute to the fight against shady economy. On the contrary, it can contribute to its growth. People in the second-hand market will agree on one price, set another and perhaps pay another price. How will things be in the rural areas where there are no bank branches and no culture of working with banks? Will neighbors reach an agreement and rush to open accounts at banks?

This is definitely a plan to support banks, which is not bad in terms of the idea, but it shouldn't be at our price. Armenia's banking system is quite developed, but as a structure that serves. Banks still don't make investments with long-term and reasonable interest rates in the economy, and we have to find other ways of supporting them.

According to the information provided by the National Assembly, it became clear that the PAP is working with this logic and I think it is doing the right thing by going against the bills. With this, the PAP is showing that it defends the interests of small and medium businesses and average people.

Such a response from the Republican Party of Armenia to the position of Prosperous Armenia Party is linked to the fact that this was the government's proposal and was of special significance for the government. I think the government will try to pass this legislative package.
