LITURGY IN THE ARMENIAN CHURCHES OF GEORGIA

On May 6 a mass was served in the Georgian Armenian diocese St. Gevorg and St. Echmiadzin churches, in the Batumi St. Savior, Akhalqalaq St. Cross, Akhaltskhe St. Grigor the Illuminator and the Ninotsminda St. Sargis Armenian churches, in memory of the victims of the May 3 A-320 crash. Representatives of the authorities, regional organizations and NGOs were present at the mass.

Before the ceremony leader of the Georgian Armenian diocese Vazgen Bishop Mirzakhanyan visited the Armenian Embassy to Georgia and left his message in the book of condolences.

On May 5 Georgian President Mikhail Sahakashvili visited the RA Embassy and left a message in the book of condolences, «I learned about the Sochi disaster with the deepest sorrow. All our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.»

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli, State Minister Giorgi Khaindrava, deputy Foreign Minister Merab Artadze, and representatives of foreign Embassies in Georgia also left their message in the book.

Let us mention that there one citizen of Georgia and six people from Javakhq by origin were among the 113 victims of the crash. Two of them were from the village Ghoulalis, region of Ninotsminda.
