Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel suffered a health scare after almost swallowing his tongue following a blow to the head that knocked him unconscious. The Slovakia international was playing in a friendly against Thailand on Sunday and collapsed after taking a blow to the temple

The 33-year-old was incredibly saved by his team-mate Ondrej Duda, who realised the severity of the incident, reaching into his mouth to ensure he didn't swallow his tongue. The Fenerbahce star collapsed in the 27th minute and lay down before medics rushed onto the pitch.
