Yezidis protest near UNO office (video)
Today Yezidis living in Armenia were in front of UNO office. The demand was the defense of Iraq Yezidis. Days ago in Iraq Rabin city near Syria 7 Yezidis were killed and more than 4000 people were evacuated. Yezidis think that it is time to speak about Yezidis mass killings in Iraq, which isn’t new phenomenon. They gave letter to the United Nations Organization, “We expect recovering of the international community's indifference, as there are indifference, in case of killing Yezidis, no one is punished,”- said “Sinjar Yezidis national union” NGO head Boris Murazi. But according to Boris Murazi, the problem is not only in the international society, according to his words, Yezidis also must be organized and united, “There are only more than 1000 Yezidis in Yerevan, but few came to protest, when this attitude is changed, UNO will response sooner.” He also added that Yezidis weren’t allowed gathering defense units in Iraq by saying that it is illegal. Boris Murazi noted, “It turn out that killing Yezidis is legal and our defense is illegal.”
