The choice of Armenia’s next prime minister depends on the functions he is going to perform, says Armen Badalyan, an expert on political and electoral technologies. “Either that man will be appointed for a short period or will later become president. First we should understand who initiated all this and what he wants,” says the expert. Armen Badalyan is convinced that the prime minister's resignation has nothing to do with the demands of the four non-coalition forces. “Neither did civil protests led to the resignation. We have already seen thousands of people protesting in the street without any success.” The expert does not rule that Russia may stand behind the resignation. “Russia would not let Armenia have a prime minister who always looked to the West.”
