That Russian media began denouncing the recent events in the embattled Armenian community in Syria’s Kessab can be described as a diplomatic tool, says Mikael Melkumyan, a lawmaker of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK). He says we are witnessing the formation of new world order, and Armenia is to determine its place there. With regard to Armenia’s decision to vote against the UN resolution upholding the territorial integrity of Ukraine and recognizing Crimea referendum vote invalid, Mr Melkumyan said Armenia contradicted the “both… and” principle of its foreign policy Artak Davtyan, a lawmaker of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), criticizes the behavior of non-democratic countries that, like Armenia, voted against the UN resolution. Speaking about the motion of no confidence to be submitted against the government by the four opposition factions in the Armenian parliament, Mikael Melkumyan said the ‘quartet’ will formally propose the motion of censure on April 28. Before that, they will hold meetings in regions to inform public of their plans. Speaking about the alleged disagreements between his teammates, Artak Davtyan said those are only rumours. In his turn, the BHK MP denied the reports that the authorities are pressurizing the businessmen representing the BHK.
