Shant Harutyunyan transferred to Vardashen penitentiary
Chairman of the Tsekhakron Party, Shant Harutyunyan has been transferred to Vardashen penitentiary on Thursday evening. Harutyunyan’s ex-wife Ruzan Badalyan told A1+ that Shant had written a letter asking to transfer him to an isolation ward of the National Security Service, but his request was declined. Harutyunyan was detained on November 5 as he attempted to head to the Presidential Office together with a group of supporters to ‘blow up the building’ as he had earlier stated. He faces charges over using violence against a representative of the authorities (Article 316.2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia).
