Youth Chess Olympiad. Armenian team takes 12th place

The Armenian U-16 team ended up unsuccessful at the Youth Chess Olympiad in Turkey.

Before the last round, our team had a good chance of winning, but for that objective they had to win the final game. However, the Armenian team lost with the score of 1:3 to its immediate opponent, the Belarusian team.

Thus, our chess players remained with their same 11 points and dropped from 6th place to 12th, while the Belarusians gained 14 points and moved up to 3rd place. Azerbaijan became the champion of the Olympiad with 16 points.

FIDE Master Armen Barseghyan was the best player in the Armenian team, scoring 6.5 points out of 8 and taking the 3rd place among the chess players playing on the 2nd board.
