German Ambassador: If you cannot prove anything, accept the situation
German Ambassador to Armenia Rainer Morel agrees with international observers' assessment on the February 18 presidential election in Armenia.
"The observers said they had certain concerns regarding last week's vote. I agree with them. They also said that the election was generally well-administered and was characterized by a respect for fundamental freedoms. Again I agree with them. We can say that this election recorded progress as compared with the previous ones," Mr Rainer Morel told A1+.
With regard to the post-election developments in Armenia, the German Ambassador said the situation is rather complicated.
"If you think that something is wrong, you should be able to prove it, otherwise, you will have to put up with the situation," he said.
The German official particularly highlighted the fact that people feel the possibility of changing something in the country.
Rainer Morel advised the opposition to ‘return to work, become a strong opposition and make use of a second opportunity.'
