Armenian Parliament Speaker is strict today
Armenia's National Assembly is continuing in its special session the discussion of projects submitted by the executive body.
At the beginning of the meeting, NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said the projects should be discussed within 24 hours.
The NA discussed today the draft law on making amendments and addenda to the Law on Patent Payments. The legislative body also put to vote the draft laws on Licensing and Property Right but the majority of MPs could not vote because of some technical problems. The bills were put to vote for a second time.
Just at that moment NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan turned to Republican MP Shushan Petrosyan who had just entered the hall.
"Are you for or against the bill," said Mr. Abrahamyan.
"Where should I know?" was the MP's reply who hurried to take her seat and vote for the bill in the re-voting.
Later on, Mr. Abrahamyan reprimanded Republican MP Hamlet Harutyunyan who was diligently engaged in solving crosswords.
"Mr. Harutyunyan, do not vote with your both hands."
Presently, the NA is discussing the draft law on Sevan, a most controversial project presented by the government.
