Interview with deputy candidate of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Vahe Hovhannisyan

"A1+": How would you assess the situation that has been created after the elections?

Vahe Hovhannisyan: The elections have created a new political situation in the country, and nobody can deny this fact. There are perspectives for development, risks, the potential tendencies, as well as the potential of stagnation and progress, but that will be clear later.

"A1+": Do you think BHK will join the HHK and "Country of Law" Party (OEK) in the coalition? Many don't even rule out "Heritage"' Party's participation.

V. H.: I can't comment on other parties' participation and I can't express the BHK's general view either. I personally think there is no sense in the BHK's participation. It goes against the laws of political science and is not in the BHK's interest. What's more, to a certain extent this is not politically correct. The party that has absolute majority should have the opportunity to form a government on its own and take full responsibility at the same time.

"A1+": If the BHK doesn't join the coalition, what role will it play in the political field?

V. H.: The BHK is turning into a strong centralized political party. It has received 450,000 votes, and this means that the party has great public support. Only the party led by Vazgen Sargsyan and Karen Demirchyan received that many votes. The BHK has political allies with whom it can collaborate to solve several issues. So, political parties with that kind of support usually receive more support when they work in the right way.
