NZhK leader urges voters to participate in elections
Though the opposition New Times party (NZhK) is not participating in the May 6 parliamentary elections, it urges all voters to attend the polls. At the same time the party calls on voters to abstain from casting their votes for the ruling coalition parties.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, NZhK leader said he was convinced that after the elections people would take to the streets in protest to protect their votes. In this sense, he highlighted the participation of citizens in the elections.
Speaking about the former oppositionists who joined the ranks of the ruling Republican party (HHK), Mr Karapetyan labeled them as ‘discredited figures.'
Asked why his party did not side with the oppositional Armenian National Congress (HAK), he gave two reasons.
"The first reason was that the HAK did not fight a revolution. HAK's second drawback was that they started talks with authorities. They made a serious mistake by that."
