After a two-hour break, the court of general jurisdiction of Shengavit district in Yerevan today continued the trial of the case of contractual soldier, lieutenant Artak Nazaryan who was murdered at the Mehrabi military unit of the RA Armed Forces in Tavush province or, according to the official version, had committed suicide.

Artak Nazaryan's sister, Tsovinar Nazaryan told "A1+" that the court interrogated pivotal eyewitness Arman Mnatsakanyan, but his responses were mutually exclusive.

"According to Arman Mnatsakanyan, the incident didn't take place on the morning of July 27, but the morning of July 26. A couple of days before the incident, the commander of the battalion Misha Gabrielyan had made the soldiers stand in a line at the supporting point, something that had been denied to that point. Misha Gabrielyan had been on vacation and hadn't taken the soldiers to the supporting point," Tsovinar Nazaryan said.

According to her, Arman Mnatsakanyan also mentioned that representative of the Military Police Major Badalyan had taken the soldiers to the military police headquarters in Berd city and had kept them there for 23 days.

"It turns out that the Military Police pressured the soldiers, took their testimonies through force and false statements and that the testimony that Arman Mnatsakanyan gave during the preliminary inquiry was a total lie. Arman had to be demobilized on December 4, but he is still serving. We are all concerned about his safety," Tsovinar mentioned.

Tsovinar informed that nearly four military police officers were following up on Arman Mnatsakanyan in the courtroom throughout the entire trial.
